MICHAEL LEE BEIDLER
Principal
As Principal and founder of Trout Design Studio, Inc. he has been implementing custom, highly specialized architectural design for over 25 years with a focus on high end residential and specialty commercial projects. He has realized scores of historic projects throughout the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area as well as many projects nationally. He has designed, managed and implemented projects ranging in scale and complexity from simple millwork renovations, to home additions and new custom homes. The work has been widely published in periodicals including Veranda, The New York Times Magazine, Southern Accents, Home and Design and HGTV.
He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, with a BA in Architecture, and has lived and worked out of the Washington, D.C. and New York City areas for over 35 years.
He has served on numerous design review boards, local and national corporate design award selection panels and has served on architectural graduate review boards for numerous renowned design schools. Michael is actively involved in local and regional historic preservation organizations serving as long-term active member, frequent officer, committee chairperson and past President of both the Dupont Circle Conservancy and the Dupont Circle Citizens Association. He is a retired Historic building inspector and Senior Preservation Specialist in the DC Historic Preservation Office in the Office of Planning.
TIM CARDER
Architectural Designer
Tim received his Master of Architecture degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He is a design professional with over twelve years of experience managing all sizes of residential and light commercial projects. He has a passion for integrating innovation, functionality and creativity to create inspiring built environments. Tim also enjoys implementing multimedia and graphic design. He possesses talent and interest in various audio and visual arts.
Tim has participated in numerous competitions including the 2004 IIDA Mid-Atlantic Competition where he was awarded the Gold Award. In 2003, he was given the Presidential Citation in the AIA Washington Chapter Award for Sustainable Design. He has also received a Savannah Historic Foundation Award for Historic Preservation as well as had the privilege of being elected the President of the American Institute of Architecture Students.
KATHY MA, AIA, NCARB
Architect, Photographer
Kathy has applied her passion for art and design into her architectural and freelance photography career for over twelve years. Her undergraduate degree in Interior Design, graduate degree in Architecture, and many years experience and love for photography have helped her create and enhance inspiring spaces. Through out her architectural career Kathy has developed, produced and managed numerous high-end residential projects and small commercial projects throughout Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Her creative dedication and engagement in architecture allows her to innovatively see, compose and capture the design intent and vision of original built works. Encouraged through her architectural endeavors her artistic expression can also be seen in her other compositions of modern lifestyle portraiture, street photography and travel photography.
JOY VALENZUELA
Staff Architect
Joy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from The University of Sto. Tomas, Manila, Philippines. Prior to relocating in the US, she is a registered professional doing design build, interior renovation and furniture manufacturing. Her works include small to medium scale residential and commercial projects specializing in custom homes and retail boutique shops. She has also worked on the baptistry restoration and parts of one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Pasig.
Joy with her passion for food, has a diploma in Culinary Arts and Technology Management from The Center of Culinary Arts (CCA), Manila. As an architect and culinarian, she had work on kitchen design and planning of private homes and food establishments.
In DC, she has worked on residential project additions, renovation and spec homes.
She is into design, planning and production of drawing documents in design and construction.
GRIZZLY
