CUSTOM STEEL TREE FENCING  
The custom steel tree fencing is made from 9” diameter steel loops and vertical center posts that are made from solid 1 1/4 x 1/4 steel bar stock, painted black. Spacing of loops is equal at around 4 1/2" , equal across each elevation. There is a 2 piece horizontal belt course to be welded into inside and outside of the loops and center posts which are 1 1/4 x 1/4 steel bar stock, welded to the steel loops and center posts and painted black. The bottom horizontal soil bar is installed at sidewalk height, welded to outside of the loops and center posts, is made of 3” x 1/4 steel bar stock, painted black. This bar to extend to encompass entire box, beyond loop design area only on those tree boxes with existing soil above the adjacent sidewalk level. The corners are made from 1 1/4" square corner posts.

To identify the tree fence as an official Dupont Circle Citizens Association sanctioned tree fence, there is a shiney brass plaque securely attached to each end of each tree fence that reads DUPONT CIRCLE CITIZENS ASSOCIATION 2003 for all tree fences ordered this year. The year will change for each year the program is in place.
