	Georgia Avenue Apartments, Washington, DC This was our new construction project, Trout worked with the client and Zoning Attorneys to maximize the allowable building envelope while creating a contextually beautiful building of mid range condominiums for the key target market there on Georgia Avenue. The project is fully sold and our client is extremely happy with the project and end product.

	Walseman-O'Brien Residence, Arlington, VA In this, the latest of 3 projects we have done for the client, we were asked to "Fix" the tiny kitchen, add a master bedroom suite and new rear deck onto this modest, military "salt box" residence, without changing the overall character of the house in it's context of like houses. The addition had to be modest in appearance and scale, so as not to change the character of the house in the streetscape, yet we needed to add a large program to the property, "spruce up" the house and give it a fresh new look.
	Wang-Selig Residence, Washington, DC This set of additions to a modest brick colonial nearly doubled the size of the existing structure while minimizing the visual impact on the house massing and the neighborhood.
	Smith-Voles Residence, Drummond, MD This new garage and porch addition to one of the oldest existing farm houses in the historic village of Drummond, Chevy Chase, Maryland, blends new technology and style with the old world charm and detailing of the existing farmhouse.
	Chambers Residence, Amatanth, PA This new farm house was built to replace a century old family homestead that burned down in a tragic, all consuming fire in the winter of 2003. The new house was designed to replace the original house not in form but in spirit and function. With an artist in the household, the house design needed to include a large art studio and commanding views in all directions to take advantage of the wonderful light throughout the day for landscape painting.
	Stenzel Residence, North Arlington, VA This new house project enveloped an existing single story ranch home, creating a new 2 story home for a newly married couple. The original house, a single story, 2 bedroom ranch house was outgrown by this expanding family who loved the house and the neighborhood and wanted to stay put, but needed more living space, a new kitchen, more bedrooms and substantial home office capacity. The house was also surrounded by great decades old oak trees, which were very carefully integrated into the new design.
	Kam Residence, Washington, DC The project scope initially included the replacing of an existing step-up kitchen with a ground-level kitchen and an improvement in storage in adjacent spaces. Because of the opportunities discovered in the demolition phase of the work, the kitchen was replaced, the adjacent living room area was enlarged, the existing strip oak floors were removed and replaced and the master bedroom suite was reconfigured to add a walk-in closet and new high efficiency heating and air conditioning system for the apartment.
	Below Grade Garage, Private Residence, Washington, DC This single family attached home on a modest property in one of Washington's finest Historic Districts offered a unique and challenging opportunity for us, to leave the existing single car garage in place and add a new 2 car plus garage on a site with a small, elevated rear yard, historic stone retaining walls and a difficult access rear alley AND maintain some play space for the family dog and 2 small children.
	Cromier Residence, Washington, DC This kitchen renovation was conceived to create an expansive open plan kitchen for this active family in a modest city bungalow.
	Skibiak Residence, Washington, DC This Master Bedroom Suite was created to accommodate the Master Bedroom in this midtown classic brick row home.
	Lorenz Residence, Bethesda, MD This modest but dramatic kitchen renovation was designed to invigorate the house with our full attention to a contemporary, timeless design and spatial orderliness, and to visually expand the kitchen into the adjacent exterior space, borrowing light, color, and beauty from the garden and foliage.
	Portnoy Residence, Washington, DC This basement renovation transformed a claustrophobic warren of 6 rooms into an expansive open family room with added guest suite-bedroom, full bath with marble tiled walls and floor, and a laundry room.
	Barash-Wald Residence, Washington, DC This was the first joint house renovation project the newlyweds took on as they settled into their new life together. The old kitchen was stripped out down to drywall and wood floors to create a warm, high-tech kitchen, reflecting the high style of the new couple.
	Private Residence, 2862 28th Street, NW, Washington, DC We were asked to renovate the kitchen and bathrooms of this lovely house and to assist in decorating and selecting color schemes to create a "new home" for the young new owners. The dining room was restored to it's original grandeur, the original butlers pantry was recreated from a previous renovation bathroom and a new chinoiserie powder room was added as a little jewel box on this first floor.
	Nelson-Runyan Residence, Washington, DC This modest but extraordinary kitchen renovation combined 3 separate spaces in a Historic rowhouse in downtown Washington, D.C. We removed all of the existing floors, walls and ceilings, installing steel beams and columns to support the existing upper floor bearing walls and the rear masonry wall of the house to create a clean slate on which a modern, open plan kitchen-dining-sunroom space was created.
	Il Pallazo, Washington, DC The former Embassy of Italy is the crown of historic "Embassy Row" in the nations capitol, located 20 blocks north of the White House, at the precipice of Meridian Hill in the heart of Washington's hottest renaissance neighborhood of Adams Morgan-Columbia Heights. The site is 4 blocks west of the new Columbia Heights Metro and directly on the main north-south bus and automobile transportation route in and out of the city, 16th Street, N.W.
	Sandler Residence, The Mountain House, Wardensville, WV This generous 2 Bedroom 2 ½ bath mountain home strategically set on 2 ½ acres of heavily wooded mountainside bordering the George Washington National Forest, was designed and sited to maximize the passive solar gain the site offered and to leverage the stunning mountain, stream and wildlife ambiance of the adjacent national forest.
	Private Mountain Retreat, Yellow Springs, WV This modest 2 Bedroom 2 ½ bath mountain retreat nestled deep within 20 heavily wooded acres, was designed to create a cozy, maintenance free retreat replete for a busy urban family.
	Beidler-Williams Mountain Retreat, Yellow Springs, WV This "green construction" mountain retreat was created as a mountain retreat from the hustle and bustle of nearby Washington D.C. The house is nestled on a heavily wooded 21 Acre site on a plateau in the mountains in West Virginia.
	Perry-Dellinger Residence, Washington, DC This modern home addition to this lovely home on one of Washington's most picturesque streets adjacent to the national park overlooking the Potomac river, was inspired by the simple need for a larger kitchen, better internal circulation and to better utilize existing "left over" and under utilized spaces throughout the home.
	Swann Street, Washington, DC This project's goal was to expand the outdoor space of a classic row house in the heart of the Dupont Circle Historic District.
